Eonnagata in Berlin and Châlons

Eonnagata’s team is back to work; the production will be presented in Berlin from Nov. 12 to Nov. 15 at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and will then move to Châlons-en-Champagne for a few days of fine-tuning, followed by three shows on Nov. 26,27 and 28. Jean-Sébastien Côté will be back behind the mixing board for this run.

The Aleph in Toronto

The Aleph, a new play based on Jorge Luis Borges’s short tory, will be presented in Toronto in the winter of 2010 by the company Soulpepper.
Written and played by
Diego Matamoros, this production gives Jean-Sébastien the opportunity to work with stage director Daniel Brooks and designer Michael Levine.

A rehearsal period is currenlty going on until the end of October.

Lectrosonics / Ex Machina

Lectrosonics, makers of fine wireless microphones from New Mexico, just published a news release regarding the use of their equipment in two recent Ex Machina’s productions (and Jean-Sébastien’s design).
The article was published in

The Blue Dragon In Montreal

The Blue Dragon just started a six-week run at Montreal’s Théâtre du Nouveau Monde; as it is in his home town, Jean-Sébastien Côté will do the operation of the live sound, giving Donato Wharton, the “regular” sound operator, a deserved rest. The media premiere is tonight!

Busy

Currently in London for the world premiere of Eonnagata...

Eonnagata 2008

The "official" rehearsal period of Eonnagata, a dance show by and starring Sylvie Guillem, Robert Lepage and Russell Maliphant, ended with a public rehearsal on December 20th at La Caserne Dalhousie, in Québec City. Everybody involved in the project will meet again for the final tune up and world premiere of the how in London's Saddler's Wells in February 2009.

Jean-Sébastien Côte's sound design mixes baroque-period music, electronic soundscapes and live amplification and involves a lot of "performance" from the sound operator. He will assume that role for the first dates of the tour but will count on Claude Cyr's "savoir-faire" for the remaining of the adventure...
